Ear Acupressure: Let's Relax

Treatment of Auriculotherapy Reflex Points by Acupressure

Demonstration by Olivier Roy, acupuncturist, of treatment by acupressure of auriculotherapy reflex points. Like the foot in reflexology, the ear is a complete reflex system, giving access to different zones of the body, internal organs and organic functions. The technique can be used for the treatment of fatigue and stress. This technique aims to stimulate all the points of the ear's reflex system through increased blood flow to the entire ear.

Emphasis is placed on the inner part of the ear, the hollow zones as if cleaning the ear by pinching and rubbing the ear. Continue until you feel an impression of redness or warmth in the ear. This is an excellent technique for people experiencing exhaustion, who are fatigued and stressed at the same time. It is recommended to perform it 1x in the morning as well as 1x in the evening to increase results. You can easily treat both ears at the same time, and the technique is very quick to perform.

Indeed, there are several hundred acupuncture points on the ear, which are actually reflex points, used for bio-stimulation of internal organs, anatomical zones and the treatment of specific symptoms. While it is possible to treat a patient's constitutional condition through the ear alone using reflex points corresponding to internal organs, auriculotherapy points are generally complementary and/or symptomatic points added to acupuncture treatment on meridian systems. Cataloging all non-meridian points, several auriculotherapy systems exist. Some are more recent. One of the recognized scholars in this field, acknowledged internationally, is Terry Oleson. He is the author of the excellent work Auriculotherapy Manual: Chinese and Western Systems of Ear Acupuncture.
