Acupressure for stress
In this tutorial, Olivier Roy, acupuncturist, demonstrates an acupressure technique for stress to perform after a long day. It is an excellent method for people who have experienced shock and need to relax.
This is in fact the manual stimulation of the first point on the kidney meridian (Rèn Mài), Yongquan (湧泉), which means "gushing spring." This is a point that raises yin (fluids and blood) and lowers yang (heat). This point has a positive effect in people with high blood pressure, and can also be used for resuscitation.

The ideal time to perform this treatment is at bedtime or after a bath. You can apply a drop of essential oil of ravintsara, black spruce, or use a warming ointment.
To be effective, manual stimulation should be quite vigorous and last a minimum of 3 to 5 minutes per foot. One of the effective ways to stimulate an acupuncture point through massage, when addressing an internal disorder, is to find a tender area and continue the stimulation until the tenderness disappears.
Do not hesitate to consult an acupuncturist if manual stimulation is not sufficient. Acupuncture needles require less stimulation and are considered more powerful than massage alone for stimulating acupuncture points.
