You've heard accounts from real experiences, read about the subject, or another healthcare professional has mentioned it to you, but like many, you want to try acupuncture for one or several specific reasons.

Acupuncture can act instantaneously on a good number of acute complaints (recent presentations), and usually requires more sessions for a chronic (long-standing) disorder. In certain cases, booster sessions are necessary, like any good remedy, which in some cases may have curative, stabilizing...or preventive aims!!!

Yes, I've said it, a taboo of our times, the controversial preventive medicine... Acupuncture is both a curative and preventive approach. One of Google's spinoffs; a company that offers you, in exchange for your dollars and a drop of your blood sent by mail, a detailed assessment of your possible intolerances and other biometric information, ranging from the most fascinating and unusual to the most mundane indicators from your latest blood work... There are several similar companies online offering this service. The center of the legislative debate sits on the interpretation of much of this data, which requires an informed medical professional body should there be an official declaration of a diagnosis based on test data.

Caduceus Caduceus
>
Originally the symbol of commerce in ancient Greece, the caduceus has evolved (surprise!) into the symbolic representation of medicine. That says a lot either about the power of a symbol, or about the direction medicine has taken, or both. Note the presence of the notion of duality in this symbol, an essential foundation of instrumental and commercial relationships, an alienation through intermediaries to the divine, a relationship of co-dependence. Duality is also, of course, at the foundation of sustaining life and its maintenance in living beings. Let us think of the opposing forces leading to procreation.

By following up with a professional who will recommend appropriate allergy and intolerance testing, the patient can then better orient themselves towards appropriate resources: nutritionist, acupuncturist (we are thinking here particularly of the following conditions: irritable colon, chronic pain, migraine and certain more or less atypical forms of depression, varying according to populations and their dietary habits).

Traditional Chinese Medicine, when practiced according to the contextual standards of evidence-based medicine, uses energetic differential diagnosis. An assessment of the energetic forces at work intrinsic to the organs, their expenditures relative to their accumulated reserves.... leading to the issuance of an organic fiscal recommendation aimed at economizing on tax, placing more in investments each year and living longer, wealthier and in better health.

Asclepius. Taking its roots in ancient Greece. Recalls the use of snakes of the Aesculapian species, which were used, with certain species of dogs, in the care of the sick in ancient Greece. Note the configuration very similar to the traditional acupuncture needle, with its solenoid handle (coil) of copper. The first instruments using the Asclepius configuration were made of bronze and brass. They are moreover mentioned in the Book of Numbers (translated from Greek Αριθμοί Arithmoí, in Hebrew במדבר Bəmidbar, in the desert), the 4th book of the Bible. Above, in order: traditional acupuncture needles, disposable, with copper coil + stainless steel body, dragon needle with moxibustion; in bronze alloy, and on the right the gold needle. There are other alloys in use. In this sense, needles with plastic handles do not respect this tradition of metallic alloys aimed at forming electrical potential through coupling of reactive materials, themselves also reacting to the bioelectricity of the human body.

As if the evidence accumulated over the last 5000 years were not enough, we felt it necessary to revisit the study of acupuncture practice and the results of the most recent meta-analyses will surprise you. No medication, even from the most advanced pharmacopeia, treats all these ailments and diseases at once....even that none treats with satisfaction or even at all some of the conditions mentioned in the meta-analyses that demonstrate the validity of applications addressed by acupuncture follow-up. The cost-benefit studies conducted on the practice of acupuncture integrated into the public health system are particularly favorable to models that integrate acupuncture into interdisciplinary hospital units, for sound health resource management.

So, in the end, acupuncture is an investment with long-term gains, which contributes to the accumulation of your capital registered on the line...of youth and enjoyment of life!
